HR MANAGER

Position: Permanent  

Location: Phase 1 Sherwood Park Annesley, Nottinghamshire

Hours of work: Working Monday to Friday  9am – 5.30pm

Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 per year.

Job Type: Full Time

 

**Office based position**

This is a great opportunity for an experienced HR Manager to join an established and
successful business , based on site in Annesley, Nottinghamshire. Prolog Fulfilment Ltd
has over 30 years’ experience of partnering with brands to develop their business, with two
multi-user warehouses, totalling 250,000 sq. ft, along with a Contact Centre based in
Sudbury Suffolk – overall employing circa 240 staff members
This role would suit an experienced HR professional, with an operational background
working in Logistics, Warehouse, or a Manufacturing environment.

 

What you need to apply for this role:

  • Experience working as a HR Manager in a Warehouse/Logistics or Manufacturing environment
  • Hold a minimum CIPD Qualification Level 5 or equivalent, preferably MCIPD
  • Proven experience of providing support and advice on employee relations matters,with specific experience in absence management, performance management,conducting formal investigations, supporting investigations, and supporting chair of hearings
  • Experience of working in a large business with statutory reporting
  • Pro-active and able to use your own initiative
  • Ability to challenge and strong negotiation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
  •  Computer literate in Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel
  •  Experience of managing Apprenticeship Levy and associated training
  •  Experience of using HR software

 

Desirable:

  • Experience of working in a multi-site environment
  • Mental health first aider

 

What the role involves:

The HR Manager is a hands-on generalist role providing professional and compliant policies,
advice, support, and administration to support the business needs are met to drive the
business forward. Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Ensure that the principles of fairness are adhered to whilst ensuring compliance with
    company policy, contractual and legislative obligations to achieve cost effective and
    low risk business solutions
  •  Provide advice and support to Directors and managers through the entire employee
    lifecycle incl. recruitment, absence, discipline, grievance, appeals, and poor
    performance to reach effective outcomes whilst minimising the risk to the business
  • Together with external support and advice, manage the business organisational
    change in terms of departmental restructures, change of contracts of employment,
    TUPE, redundancy, employee engagement to successful completion in a cost
    effective and legally compliant manner
  • Identify smarter ways of managing the HR function and streamlining where appropriate by better use of management information systems
  • Support HR colleagues
  • Manage the recruitment, selection, induction, and probation processes for vacancies ensuring the business attracts and retains the best candidates
  • Prepare and analyse data and other information relating to ER issues and Absence management for managers
